Czech Republic: Ireland, you leave me wanting Moher

Ever since I was little I have always dreamed of going to Ireland and this past weekend my dream finally came true! Ireland was everything I ever dreamed of and more. The people were all so nice, the country was beautiful, and the weather was perfect (very uncommon for Ireland). Also, I was finally back in a country where they speak ENGLISH!! That was a huge game changer. From the moment I arrived in Dublin on Thursday I felt so comfortable and welcomed.

On Friday we went on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. I have never seen something so beautiful in my life. There was no fog (which is common at the cliffs) the sky was bright blue and the sun was shinning over the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and the stunning green cliffs that towered over the water. We were there for about an hour and a half and I could not stop taking pictures, I just wanted to try and capture just how beautiful the cliffs were, but no picture does this place justice. After seeing it in person, I think everyone who goes to Ireland has to take a visit to the Cliffs of Moher, I promise it is well worth your time!

Friday night we went to Temple Bar. The atmosphere was amazing, and we met to many people from all over Europe, but we only met two people who were actually from Ireland. Still, Temple Bar is the most famous bar in Ireland, it’s definitely a “must” when you’re in Dublin.

Saturday we went to a rugby game and it was so much fun! I know absolutely nothing about rugby but I didn’t care, I just wanted to experience a sporting event in Ireland, and rugby is huge there. We ate some concession food and cheered when everyone else did because we had no clue what was going on! It was such a great and different way to spend our afternoon and I’m so glad we decided to go.

Sunday was an extremely eventful day to say the least. It started out great. Jenna, Natalie and I had  breakfast, then passed a doughnut shop and, obviously, all got one. We headed toward Trinity College and walked around the campus. Now, I still believe that Ole Miss has the most beautiful campus in the US, but Trinity College has to have the most beautiful campus in Ireland. The buildings were all beautiful gray stone, and the grass and trees were all SO green and flowers were blooming everywhere. It was gorgeous. Next, we headed towards Temple Bar to get some pictures and once we arrived Jenna realized her phone was gone. The day before she had added her phone’s location onto an app on my phone called “Find Friends” so I immediately looked up the location of her phone on my app. We quickly realized that someone had her phone because the location kept moving so for about an hour we were chasing this mysterious person all around central Dublin. We eventually lost them, got their last location before they turned off the phone and went to the police to report the phone stolen, but we still have not heard any news.

To try and cheer up from the epic phone chase, we decided to go to one of Dublin top sites: Guinness Storehouse! It was amazing and definitely worth the 18 euro to get in. We took pictures in front of the gate, learned how to pour the perfect pint, checked out the top floor of the storehouse, which has a 360 degree view of the entire city of Dublin, and learned all about how the famous Irish stout is made, which was really interesting. It was a great way to end the day before heading to the airport to fly home to Prague.

Ireland was by far my favorite trip so far. Between the incredibly friendly people, the beautiful country-side, stunning cliffs, and fun night life, Ireland was better than I could have ever imagined. I’m already thinking about when I can return to this beautiful country! Ireland truly stole my heart… and Jenna’s iPhone.
