Dana: Yeouido

So far, I have been a student in South Korea for almost 2 months, and I have yet to experience any form of boredom. My all time favorite place to visit at the moment is Yeouido, more specifically, the  Han River. Every single time that I have visited Yeouido, I had so much fun that I almost didn’t want to leave. I’ve been there a total of three times by the way, and it takes precisely one hour to get there by subway from where I live.

The first time I visited Yeouido was for a casual stroll along the river. It was there that I discovered something amazing. A convenience store where you could not only buy Ramen, but you can actually cook it as well! So after cooking my Ramen using the machine,I got to really enjoy the cool autumn air, and my Ramen of course, riverside. Furthermore, there was a rainbow water show on the bridge nearby. The show also came with a musical accompaniment that consisted of some of the most popular songs in Korea.

Last time  I visited Yeouido, it was for the International Fireworks Festival. There was plenty of food, entertainment from some of Korea’s most popular musical acts, a parade, and an amazing fireworks show. I loved every moment of it, and I had never seen so many people in one location in my life. The subways were packed, the streets were crowded, and at the venue, there were tents everywhere. At first, I didn’t quite understand why it seemed as if all of Korea was in Yeouido that night, that is until I actually saw the fireworks show with my own eyes. Back home in America, I thought that I had seen it all, but I was horribly mistaken. Will I visit Yeouido again? You bet.
